A new Nigel picture book is now available at Amazon.com in paperback. I elected to not create an e-book version; I didn’t think that the illustrations would translate well into the dimensions of a handheld electronic reader.
A girl and her dog. A beautiful spring day.
A girl and her German Shepherd dog, Nigel, set off on a rambling idyll one spring day, in which they chase geese, splash in water, and go on a little quest that takes them to an old friend. It’s quite possibly a perfect spring day. You’re invited to come along!
Here’s the original cover picture, which I ended up expanding so it would cover both the front and back, and then modifying further to accommodate the title:
The Fountain in the Garden, a magical-adventure children’s novel (for middle school age and older), is now available at Amazon.com in paperback and Kindle e-book editions.
Here’s the synopsis:
It just looks like an old fountain in a garden, nothing remarkable, half-hidden behind stone walls and a grove of trees. But twelve-year-old Cadence soon discovers that it’s remarkably, impossibly difficult to reach. And she also comes to find that she’s not the only one trying to get to it.
What starts out as a pretty ordinary, lonely summer vacation, when Cadence goes to stay with the mysterious Mrs. Brier, quickly turns into a rather extraordinary quest. And, along the way, Cadence makes new friends – and enemies – in an adventure that leads her inexorably to the fountain in the garden, to legends, magic, and things well beyond imagining.
